Yesterday my mom and I were remembering when I was just a bit younger than Riley and sick on Halloween and how sad I was too. She let me go to a few houses and I was just thrilled! It is such a special thing to have a wonderful, caring mother growing up and it is an incredible blessing to have the chance to be a wonderful, caring mother. I only hope I am, Lord knows I sure do try!
We had a wonderful time Trick or Treating last night. In our little town, we have one main downtown street where a lot of the local shops are located and on Halloween they close down the streets and the shops and the store owners hand out candy to the kids. It was a wonderful, chaotic time. We took our dog Louie, and when we got there I realized I had forgotten his leash. So here was my solution:
I felt ridiculous but everyone seemed to get a kick out of a jailhouse dog in a stroller. The boys had a lot of fun and Raegan quickly figured out how to get himself some candy, or "Nandy" as he called it.
I could definitely tell Riley didn't feel like himself but he was such a help to his little brother and enjoyed going Trick or Treating. He truly amazes me with how sweet, loving, helpful and protective he is of Raegan. He is such a blessing!
